Green Envy, Inc., is a full-service, custom landscape construction business serving the greater north Tahoe and Truckee areas for the past 11 years. Over the past several years, Green Envy, Inc. has expanded and grown in both services offered and in our ability to continue our strong focus on customer service. We pride ourselves on our general availability, communication with clients and contractors, as well as providing an excellent finished product. We are currently affiliated with the longest running and most developed nursery in the Sierra (Tahoe Tree Company/McBride's Nursery). Green Envy, Inc. has developed long-standing relationships with local building contractors, architects, engineers and designers to better serve our clients needs and to provide a network of resources from which to work.

Upon relocating from the central coast of California to the north Tahoe area in 1996, John Crus, the founder of Green Envy, Inc., was pursuing a career in ecological sciences and was seasonally working with Yosemite National Park and the California Department of Fish and Game in Bishop, California. In the winter seasons, John Crus spent a significant amount of time surfing and skiing, both internationally and within California, as well as developing a home maintenance business (North Tahoe Winter Home Care). John Crus stated, "I had received my degree in Restoration Ecology and Wildlife Biology and was pursuing a career in field work in the Sierra." Eventually, Crus suggested, "I was constantly on the move from Project to Project and decided that Graduate school and academic pursuits were not my goal. I wanted to be more settled, with time to focus on my community, family and personal outdoor pursuits." Green Envy, Inc. was developed shortly thereafter. At that time, Green Envy, Inc. was a business of four employees, one truck and a small trailer. As time passed, Green Envy, Inc. became well established within the construction industry of the Tahoe area. Currently, Green Envy, Inc. employs nearly 20 seasonal laborers, managers and administrators; and operates a number of vehicles, machines and equipment.

Green Envy, Inc. currently focuses on landscape construction and landscape maintenance services. We also offer consulting, design, BMP and restoration services. Our focus on customer service is unsurpassed. We strive to provide high quality landscape development with an emphasis on native and locally hardy plant materials. We have focused on "green" building since our inception and use only organic fertilization techniques and conservation minded landscape irrigation. Most products used within our Projects are sourced locally, including the locally propagated plant materials that dominate our landscape development. We have more recently increased our focus on offering unique and specialized hardscape products such as concrete development, mortar set patios, sitting wall features and fence development. Our bottom line is customer satisfaction and quality work.
